Romania’s Constitutional Court (CCR) on Monday rejected the appeals filed by Mircea Geoana, an independent candidate in the upcoming presidential election, against two decisions of the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC) dated in September.
The two decisions, BEC Decision 4/D/24.09.2024, and, respectively, BEC Decision 12/D/30.09.2024 regarding the establishment of the electoral bureaus for the presidential election and the procedure of accreditation of the delegations of the political parties participating in the election without having representatives in the Electoral Bureau.
On Monday, the constitutional judges also rejected the appeals against the presidential candidacies of Marcel Ciolacu, Nicolae Ciuca and Mircea Geoana.
The court also rejected the appeals against the non-registration of the candidacies of Diana Iovanovici Sosoaca and Ion Popa in the election for the office of president of Romania.
