More than 20.232 million cards were active at the end of June 2022

The total number of active cards was, at the end of June 2022, 20,232,563 units, up 3.2% compared to the end of last year, according to the data centralized by the National Bank of Romania (BNR), Agerpres reports.

Of these, 20,191,520 had a cash function, 621,312 more than at the end of December 2021.

On the other hand, on June 30, 2022, the number of existing ATMs in Romania was 10,197, that of POS 332,264 and EFTPOS (Electronic Funds Transfer at Point of Sale) 324,699.
