The Museum of Immersive New Art – MINA, the first immersive venue in Romania and the largest new media art center in Southeast Europe, will open on Friday in Bucharest at No. 2 – 4, George Constantinescu Street, a release informs, write Agerpres.
MINA is an innovative project designed by One Night Gallery and Le Petit as an intercrossing between art, emerging technologies as a creative medium, interactive experiences, education, and the development of new digital skills. The 2,500 sqm museum premises include several areas dedicated to adults and children; the visitors will be welcomed by a virtual guide, a conversational avatar that uses artificial intelligence.
The main sections of the museum will be the immersive space with 360-degree projections, MINA Kids – dedicated to educational and interactive installations for children, an area dedicated to temporary exhibitions or events, a lounge area and a cafe. MINA will open with two immersive shows: „Gustav Klimt. The Immersive Show” and „The Underwater World. An Immersive Water Journey”.
The first is a multimedia production that includes 60 of the Austrian symbolist painter’s works, overarching the „Golden Age” inspired by the Art Nouveau style and Byzantine symbols. The show will feature works exhibited in museums around the world, such as the Lady with a Fan, The Kiss, and The Lady in Gold. The „Underwater World” show is an educational foray into water biodiversity, marked by awareness of how one can contribute to a cleaner world and to the protection of species.
Both shows can be seen starting on August 25, whereas the MINA Kids space will open on September 1. Later on, the organizers will also launch the Innovation Laboratory, a place offering the community of artists and developers access to the latest technologies, and which will host creative residencies, new projects and the New Media Art exhibition venue.
