Education Minister Ligia Deca said on Wednesday that 77.6% of the candidates scored over 5 [the Romanian system in the Romanian language test and 68.7% scored over 5 in the math test.
„In Romanian language, 77.6% of the candidates who took the Romanian language exam scored above 5, compared to 73.98% in the simulation, so the percentage is on the rise. In mathematics, 68.7% of the candidates present obtained marks above 5, compared to 42.37% in the simulation. So there was an increase of over 26%. Regarding the marks of 10 in Romanian language, 407 candidates got a mark of 10, in mathematics 1,060 candidates got a mark of 10, and we have 65 candidates who got a mark of 10 in both Romanian language and mathematics at the level of the whole country. Among the children who obtained averages between 5 and 10, the highest percentage is between 7.80 and 8.99, a little over 33% of the children were in this range of averages,” Deca told a press conference.
According to the minister, almost 153,000 candidates participated in the National Assessment for each of the Romanian language and math tests and more than 8,300 candidates took the native language test.
She added that this year, for the first time, for the National Assessment, the papers were corrected in their entirety using the digitised assessment platform.
