National IVF programme to finally be eligible for European Union funding, says Labour Minister Manole

Published on

The national in vitro fertilisation (IVF) programme will finally be eligible for European Union funding, a positive development for thousands of families hoping to fulfil their dream of having a child, announced on Thursday the Minister of Labour, Family, Youth and Social Solidarity, Petre-Florin Manole.

„The national in vitro fertilisation (IVF) programme will, at last, be financed through European funds. This is good news for thousands of families who live each day hoping to realise their dream of having a child. After discussions and joint efforts, we have managed to include this programme in the Health Operational Programme, so that it can continue and grow, even under difficult budgetary constraints. This is an important step, not just administratively but profoundly human. We are talking about people who are not asking for privileges, only for a chance,” the minister said in a message posted on his Facebook page.

According to him, procedures to prepare the applicant’s guide will begin promptly so that funding can become a reality as soon as possible.

„I thank my colleagues Alexandru Rogobete [Minister of Health, editor’s note] and Dragos Paslaru [Minister of Investments and European Projects, editor’s note] for their support and cooperation. This is exactly the type of project that brings life, hope and confidence,” the minister added. AGERPRES
