National production of passenger cars up by 21% in first nine months of 2022, in Romania

The production of passenger cars registered in Romania, in the first nine months of the year, was 381,971 units, an increase of 21.2% compared to the similar period in 2021, according to the Romanian Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACAROM), Agerpres reads.

According to the source, of this total, 230,078 units were Dacia brand, and 151,893 were Ford production.

Regarding car registrations, the data of the the Directorate for Driving Licenses and Vehicle Registration (DRPCIV), quoted by ACAROM, reveal the fact that, between January and September 2022, they increased by almost 8%, compared to the same period of 2021. Thus, 95,276 new passenger car registrations were recorded, 7.94% more, compared to the similar period of the previous year, when 88,262 units were registered.

As for the second-hand cars registered for the first time in Romania, 241,992 units are reported, with 20.69% less than in the similar period of the previous year (305,140 units).
