NATO’s Military Committee will hold a meeting on January 18 and 19 in Brussels to analyze the evolution of the war started last February by Russia against Ukraine and to discuss other „issues of strategic importance”, the Alliance announced, EFE reports, Agerpres reads.

Made up of the chiefs of staff of the armies of the 30 NATO member countries and led by the Dutchman Rob Bauer, the Military Committee of the Alliance will discuss the support it offers to Ukraine and challenges such as defense operations against hybrid threats or digital transformation, notes the Alliance in a statement.

The NATO Secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, will also participate in the January 18-19 meeting, and the chiefs of staff from Finland and Sweden, future member countries of the Alliance, will also take part as guests.

On the second day of the meeting (January 19), the situation on the ground in Kosovo will be examined – following the recent tensions between the Kosovo Serbs and the authorities in Pristina – during a meeting with KFOR, the NATO-led mission to ensure stability in Kosovo.
