NATO, OECD citizens to be able to drive in Romania without international driving permit

Published on

Citizens of countries with which Romania has strategic partnerships, or those who are members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) or the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), can drive vehicles on public roads in Romania without the requirement of holding an international driving permit, under conditions of reciprocity and for a limited period.

This is stipulated by the ordinance adopted by the Government on Tuesday.

The normative act also grants the right to drive vehicles on public roads in Romania for members of diplomatic missions, consular offices, and representations of international organisations accredited in Romania, for the duration of their accreditation.
