NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg is visiting the Estonian capital Tallinn on Thursday and Friday, at the invitation of Prime Minister Kaja Kallas to celebrate the 105th anniversary of the Republic of Estonia, according to a press release issued by NATO.

On Friday, together with the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, the NATO Secretary General will attend the ceremonial raising of the national flag in the Governor’s Garden, lay wreaths at the foot of the War of Independence Victory Column, and attend the parade of the Defence Forces in Freedom Square. The parade will include troops from several other NATO Allies, including from the UK-led NATO multinational battlegroup in Tapa, Estonia. The ceremony will include a minute of silence to commemorate one year from the start of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine on 24 February 2022.

On Thursday, the Secretary General met with the President of the Republic of Estonia Alar Karis.
