Nearly 1,000 firefighters from 27 units across the country have been deployed to support rescuers in flood-affected areas in Galati County.
According to the Inspectorate General for Emergency Situations (IGSU), as a result of the effects of the hydrometeorological phenomena recorded in the county of Galati, the IGSU inspector general ordered, on Monday, to supplement the resources in this area with personnel and technical means from other counties, not affected by the weather phenomena.
Thus, on Tuesday morning, 960 firefighters from 24 county inspectorates for emergency situations – Bacau, Neamt, Suceava, Botosani, Vrancea, Harghita, Mures, Covasna, Brasov, Tulcea, Constanta, Buzau, Braila, Ilfov, Calararasi, Prahova, Dambovita, Arges, Olt, Iasi, Teleorman, Valcea, Dolj, ISU Bucharest-Ilfov, Boldesti school, the Special Emergency Intervention Unit, arrived on Tuesday morning to the aid of the firefighters from Galati.
At the same time, in the affected area, 80 technical means were deployed from the same IGSU units.
The teams deployed to Galati County are prepared to carry out the mission for a minimum of three days.
The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations is constantly monitoring the operational situation in order to ensure the implementation of the necessary measures for the efficient management of the occurrences encountered in the affected area, said IGSU.
