Net investments in the national economy amounted to 30.065 billion RON in Q1, 2023, an increase of 13.6% compared to the same period in 2022, according to data published on Monday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS), write Agerpres.
In the reference period, the increase was recorded in all structural items: new construction works by 16.7%, machinery (transport means included) by 9.4% and other expenditure by 8.5%.
By structural elements, the share of new construction works was 60.9% in Q1 2023, up by 2.4 percentage points compared to the same period last year.
In contrast, the share of machinery (transport means included) fell by 2.2 percentage points to 31.3%, and the ‘other expenditure’ category had a share of 7.8%, down by 0.8 percentage points.
As regards the structure of net investment by activity of the national economy, construction works recorded an increase of 5.5 percentage points to 45.7% in Q1 2023 compared with the same period last year.
Industry, on the other hand, recorded an increase of 1.2 percentage points to 20.4%, while trade and services recorded a decline of 6.6 percentage points to 20.6%, agriculture a decrease of 0.1 percentage points to 3.9%, and „other branches” stood at 9.4%.
