New car registrations in Romania increased 12.03% in the first six months of this year compared to the same period in 2023, to 82,505 units, according to data from the General Directorate of Driving Licenses and Registrations, quoted by the Romanian Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACAROM).
As of June 2024, the number of new car registrations increased 62.13% compared to the same period of the previous year, to 21,358 units.
Between January and June this year, 82,505 new cars were registered in Romania, up 12.03% compared to the first six months of 2023.
In terms of first-time nationally registered second-hand cars, the volume reached 151,546, up 22.46% year-on-year. In June 2024 alone, 25,550 units in this category were registered, up 2.24% from the same month last year.
In the ranking of new car sales for the first half of the year, Dacia is on the first place with 26,018 units, followed by Toyota (7,088), Renault (5,811), Skoda (5,779), Hyundai (4,852), Volkswagen (4,677), Ford (3,630), Suzuki (2,878), Mercedes (2,695) and BMW (2,505).
