APIA is a non-profit organisation established in 1994, a member of the International Organisation of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA) since 1996.
Its mission is to represent and support the interests of the main players in the Romanian automotive market, actively engaging in dialogueby promoting sustainable practices in the industry, by educating consumers and by offering essential and relevant analyses for this sector.
It is the organiser of defining public events for the domestic market, namely: the Bucharest International Auto Show – SIAB and the Sustainable and Accessible Mobility Forum – FMSA.
It has developed CarS, an online platform for dynamic analysis of the Romanian automotive market. APIA is the only organisation in Romania that processes DGPCI data in detail, making both the differentiation by engines (MHEV, FHEV and PHEV) of registrations, as well as a reallocation of those vehicles that DGPCI classifies to cars, although they actually have a commercial purpose, to the categories of related commercial vehicles.
