The new NCTS5-RO Computerised Transit System will allow a more efficient and secure management of goods transit, facilitating trade and reducing waiting times at customs offices, the Romanian Customs Authority (AVR) informed on Friday.
„The Romanian Customs Authority, in collaboration with the National Financial Information Centre of the Ministry of Finance, has successfully launched the New Computerised Transit System NCTS5-RO. The creation of an exclusively „paperless” environment through the use of qualified electronic signatures in the customs clearance flows and the electronic authorization of economic operators to connect to NCTS5-RO is the main benefit offered by this system,”,reads a press release from AVR.
The new NCTS5-RO Computerised Transit System was launched on 17 May 2024, becoming mandatory for the submission and processing of customs transit declarations in all customs offices in Romania.
The operationalisation of the new transit system is a new step in the digitisation of the Romanian customs, after the launch of the AES-RO automated export system on 15 March 2024 and the ICS-2 import control system on 10 May 2024, AVR points out.
NCTS5-RO will allow a more efficient and secure management of goods transit, ensuring better integration with European and international customs networks, facilitating trade in a more secure and efficient environment and reducing waiting times at customs offices. AGERPRES
