Number of pensioners increased by 13,000 in December, average pension 2,748 RON

A number of 4,703,349 pensioners were registered in December 2024 in Romania, by 13,399 more than the previous month, and the average pension was 2,748 RON, according to data centralized by the National House of Public Pensions (CNPP).

The total value of the pension rights due amounted to 12.925 billion RON.

According to CNPP statistics, out of the total number of pensioners in the public pension system, the number of those who retired at the age limit was 3,776,433 people, of whom 2,169,592 were women, while the average pension was 3,067 RON.

In December 2024, 4,954 people received early retirement (3,876 RON average pension), 89,993 people received partial early retirement (2,722 RON, average pension) and 391,557 people received disability pension (average pension of 1,124 RON), of which 44,497 people received first degree disability (973 RON, average pension).

In the same month, survivors’ pensions were granted to 440,307 people (1,448 RON, average pension), while 105 pensioners received social assistance (540 RON, on average).
