Joining the OECD is a very important objective, Israel’s ambassador to Bucharest, Reuven Azar, said on Thursday, at the event „Accession to the OECD – opportunities for the Business Environment in Romania”, organized by the Romanian Government in collaboration with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development to mark one year since the beginning of the process regarding the accession of our country to this organization, according to Agerpres.
Reuven Azar stressed that for his country the accession to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development has brought not only prosperity, but also new regulatory standards in various fields, which have encouraged entrepreneurship and attracted foreign investment.
He stressed that for Israel, access to the OECD also meant creating the opportunity for access to „cheaper loans”, an important aspect for the Israeli state, especially in times of crisis.
He emphasized that another important aspect, including after joining the Organization, is the access to the information and impartial analyzes of the OECD – which do not take into account the various opinions of the political class – as an answer to a whole series of specific problems, mentioning in this meaning the topic regarding the most effective integration of women in the labour market in Israel.
The OECD answer is very important because we can use it to fight, perhaps, even with the point of view of some politicians, because you have the OECD which is impartial, knows the country very well and gives you very concrete answers. And then, you can use this to bring about a change without taking into account the agenda of the political class, said the Israeli ambassador, according to the translation provided by the event organizers.
