Prosecutors with the Directorate for Investigation of Organised Crime and Terror (DIICOT) and the Romanian Police, with support from the Gendarmerie, on Tuesday morning conducted more than 50 operative missions as part of a large-scale operation to dismantle criminal groups of drug trafficking, trafficking in persons and minors, exploitation of vulnerable people, child pornography and cyber-crime, write Agerpres.
According to DIICOT, during this operation, more than 260 home search warrants and 250 arrest warrants were to be executed.
Out of the total operative missions, 37 related to combating drug trafficking, with 212 home search warrants and some 200 arrest being executed in the process.
Also, three operative missions were designed to combat human trafficking, with 25 home search warrants to be executed, and another one designed to combat migrant trafficking, with four home search warrants to be executed.
In 10 other operative missions to combat cyber-crime, 20 home search warrants were executed.
