DIICOT (Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism) – Central Structure prosecutors, together with police officers from the Constanta Organized Crime Combating Brigade, carried out 12 home searches in the localities of Harsova, Navodari, Fetesti and Gura Ialomitei, in a case of human trafficking and pimping.
According to DIICOT, between 2018 and May 2025, seven suspects (five men and two women) took advantage of the vulnerable state of over 20 victims and sexually exploited them, in order to obtain significant material benefits.
Thus, the suspects recruited victims from the Constanta County, transported and illegally sheltered them in several locations in Europe (Great Britain, Germany, Greece, Denmark, Austria) and, by exerting physical and psychological pressure, forced them to have sexual relations for a fee.
The sums of money obtained from the criminal activity are estimated at more than 100,000 euros.
The hearings are taking place at the headquarters of DIICOT – Central Structure.
The action benefits from the support of the police officers from the Bucharest Organized Crime Combating Brigade, the Ialomita Organized Crime Combating Service, the Constanta County Police Inspectorate – Harsova City Police and the gendarmes from the Special Intervention Brigade of the Gendarmerie and the Constanta Mobile Gendarmerie Group.
