Outgoing Bucharest District 1 Mayor Clotilde Armand, who ran for re-election on the list of the United Right Alliance in the June 9 local elections, says that she will file a criminal complaint against Chairman of the Standing Electoral Authority (AEP) Toni Grebla for what she said was a defective way of organising the local and European elections and misrepresentations.
„Political indications are given that the minutes of several problematic sections should be closed quickly, without counting the votes. The election combination produced by the National Liberal Party and the Social Democratic Party led to an increased workload at the polling stations. Amid fatigue, there are many irregularities and misrepresentations that allowed electoral fraud. The electoral process was suspended in 22 counties due to fatigue and heat, and the bags with votes and all electoral materials were handed over and guarded overnight by gendarmes. This generalised chaos was patronised by Toni Grebla,” Armand wrote on Tuesday in a social media post.
She added that the AEP chairman should take responsibility for being unable to organise th elections and resign.
