Driver, engineer and nurse were the most sought after by Romanians jobs in the first month of 2025, according to data centralised by eJobs.
According to a press release from the online recruitment platform, in the entire month of January 2025, there were over 2.1 million searches on the platform by specific keywords, depending on the candidates’ actual employment interests.
Thus, most searches were made for the job of driver, 140,000, especially to the positions of class B driver, distribution driver or truck driver.
Second by searches was the job of engineer, at 88,000 searches, and the most popular specialisations were civil engineer, mechanical engineer, installation engineer, electrical engineer, chemical engineer and design engineer.
Third, at 60,000 searches per eJobs.ro, was nurse. In fourth place is accountant (58,000), followed by call-centre operator (almost 48,000), with the seekers being especially interested in job openings for those who speak Spanish, French, German or Italian.
Unlike in 2024, remote jobs are starting to mark a decrease in interest from seekers to 32,000 searches in January 2025
Since the beginning of the year, in the sectors for which the most queries were made on the site, almost 8,000 job openings have been posted, of which about 2,000 for the transport industry, 2,300 for the call-centre/BPO, 1,200 for the medical sector, 1,600 for financial services and 800 for remote jobs.
For the same period of time, 845,000 applications were registered, most of them being attracted by the jobs retail trade, services, call-centre/BPO, IT/telecom, financial services, tourism and transport/logistics.
Data with Salario, the eJobs pay comparison site, reveal that the average net pay of those who are employed as drivers varies between RON 4,700 and over RON 12,000 lei, in the case of truck drivers who operate internationally.
At the same time, the average net salary of a nurse is approximately RON 4,800 lei, and of a call-centre operator of 3,900 lei. The average salary for an accountant is RON 5,000 per month, while for an engineer it starts at RON 6,000 and can reach up to RON 15,000 depending on specialisation and level of experience.
There are currently 20,000 job openings available on the eJobs.ro platform.
