More than 300,000 preschoolers and pupils from disadvantaged families will receive aid worth 500 RON for supplies and clothes, this school year, informs the Ministry of European Investments and Projects (MIPE), according to Agerpres.

According to the source, children in preschool state education will benefit from the 500 RON ticket, provided that the monthly income per family member is up to twice the level of the minimum guaranteed income for a single person (298 RON). Also, pupils from primary and secondary state education will benefit from support, if the average net monthly income per family member, achieved in July of each year, is a maximum of 50% of the gross minimum basic salary in the country (1,275 RON).

In the previous school year, the budget allocated to the National Support Scheme for the most disadvantaged pupils provided by Government Ordinance no. 133/2020 was 122 million RON, for 245,000 pupils from disadvantaged families.

MIPE started, on June 1, the process of issuing, distributing and charging the social vouchers offered through the government program „Support for Romania”. Approximately 2.5 million Romanians, in situations of material deprivation or at risk of poverty, receive these aids, in the amount of 250 RON every 2 months, until the end of the year. Up to this moment, two installments of 250 RON each have already been transferred.

The Ministry of Investments and European Projects will ensure this autumn the delivery of a new tranche of food packages, financed from the Operational Program Aid to Disadvantaged Persons (POAD).

The first aid from POAD was delivered in January 2020, when people from vulnerable groups received 1.18 million packages. Since then, four such tranches have been delivered.
