Over 50 foreigners caught while trying to illegally cross into Hungary

More than 50 foreign nationals were caught while trying to leave Romania illegally at the western border, hiding in a lorry or walking in the field, the Arad Border Police reports, write Agerpres.

On Friday morning, at the Nadlac II Border Crossing Point, a lorry driven by a Romanian shipping parcels on the Romania-Hungary route was checked.

A thorough check of the vehicle found in the cargo compartment, hidden among the transported goods, 43 foreign nationals of Bangladesh, Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka.

At the same time, in the last 24 hours, in the Nadlac area, two groups of migrants were spotted walking on foot, in the field, at different time tme intervals. They were heading towards Hungary and were intercepted before crossing the border. It was established that there are ten citizens from Pakistan and Sri Lanka, aged between 19 and 47 years.

The lorry driver is being investigated for migrant trafficking, and the foreigners are being investigated for attempting to illegally cross the state border.
