Parliament: 2026 draft budget to be submitted for final vote on Thursday

The 2026 draft budget will be submitted for a final vote in the joint plenary sitting of Parliament next Thursday.

The joint Standing Bureaus of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate approved on Friday the schedule for the debate and adoption of the draft laws on the state budget and social security budget for 2026.

According to the schedule, deputies and senators have until Monday at 13:00 to submit amendments.

On Monday, between 18:00 and 22:00, joint meetings of the specialised committees will take place for examination, review and submission of reports to the Budget Committees.

On Tuesday, from 09:00 to 10:30, general debates will take place within the Budget Committees, and from Tuesday at 11:00 until Wednesday at 13:00, debates will continue in the Budget Committees with the main credit authorities, during which reports will be drawn up regarding the draft budget and the draft social security budget.

From Wednesday at 16:00 until Thursday, the joint plenary sitting will be held to debate both drafts. The final vote will also take place on Thursday.
