Parliament marks 107 years since Greater Union, former Presidents Constantinescu, Basescu attending

The Senate and the Chamber of Deputies convened on Tuesday in a solemn session to mark 107 years since the Greater Union of Romania, which was formally proclaimed on December 1, 1918.

The event is also attended by Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, Cabinet ministers, former Romanian Presidents Emil Constantinescu and Traian Basescu, representatives of religious denominations, institutions, and the diplomatic corps.

The session is chaired by Senate President Mircea Abrudean and opened with the playing of the National Anthem. AGERPRES
