Parliament to be called in extraordinary session as soon as CCR releases motivation on Special Pensions Law (Senate head)

Published on

Senate President and Chairman of the National Liberal Party (PNL) Nicolae Ciuca declared on Monday that as soon as the Constitutional Court of Romania (CCR) issues the motivation for its objections to the Special Pensions Law, Parliament will be called in an extraordinary session to amend the said piece of legislation in accordance with the CCR ruling, write Agerpres.

„The moment we have the CCR motivation, we will call Parliament in an extraordinary session and make the necessary changes in line with what the Constitutional Court has decided,” Ciuca said at the PNL headquarters.

The Constitutional Court decided last week to send the law amending the special pensions act back to Parliament, after several articles were found unconstitutional.

According to CCR president Marian Enache, the law is constitutional overall, yet it has some unconstitutional aspects that need to be corrected.
