Romanian voters domiciled or resident abroad only have a few hours left to register on the website of the Permanent Electoral Authority to vote by mail in the parliamentary elections, the deadline being October 17, at 24:00 hrs.
According to the AEP website, 6,646 citizens had registered between April 1 and 9:00 hrs on Thursday.
By registering as postal voter, the Romanian citizen with the right to vote, domiciled or resident abroad and who holds a document proving the right of residence issued by foreign authorities, requests the postal delivery of voting documents to his or her correspondence address abroad.
At the same time, Romanian citizens abroad could register as voters at polling stations until the end of September. For the parliamentary elections, 6,067 voters applied to vote at a polling station.
For the presidential elections, applications to vote by post or at a polling station have closed. Thus, according to the AEP website, from April 1 until October 10, the last deadline, 6,916 citizens registered to vote by mail. As many as 6,751 Romanians from the diaspora registered to vote at a polling station.
