Acting Minister of Investments and European Projects and PNL vice-president Dragoș Pîslaru said on Tuesday that acting Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan had become ‘inconvenient’ because his agenda focused on ‘eliminating privileges and sinecures and fundamentally reforming the Romanian state’.

‘Ilie Bolojan is very inconvenient. Because Bolojan’s agenda is not about enriching the rich and corrupt politicians, but precisely about eliminating privileges and sinecures and fundamentally reforming the Romanian state. So the courts have ruled, in record time for Romania’s justice system, against the decisions democratically adopted by the PNL Congress,’ Pîslaru wrote on Facebook.

In his view, USR president Dominic Fritz has also become ‘very inconvenient’ because he shares ‘the same reformist vision for Romania’.

‘The courts have decided that the law no longer applies only to the future, but also to the past. In practice, in order to eliminate a political opponent, legal principles bordering on absurdity are being invented,’ Dragoș Pîslaru claimed.

According to him, the battles being fought today are for the country’s future.

‘These battles are not the personal battles of Ilie Bolojan or Dominic Fritz. The very future of Romania is at stake in these battles: a future that will either keep us on the path towards modernisation or cast us back towards theft and lies. We are fighting today for Romania’s future, alongside all people of good faith who still give our country a chance. For a country that those who have gone abroad will want to return to, and from which those who have stayed at home will never again consider leaving. Together we will win,’ the minister said.
