PM Bolojan: Officials have no reason not to complete asset declarations and ensure transparency

Published on

Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan said on Wednesday that officials have no reason not to make their asset declarations public and to ensure transparency, adding that he himself will complete such a declaration.

„From my point of view, I believe that officials, those who hold positions of great responsibility, have no reason not to complete an asset declaration and to ensure its transparency. It is one of the good things that relate to the proper functioning of state institutions and to the positions of responsibility you hold. Personally, I will complete the asset declaration,” PM Ilie Bolojan told a press conference held at the Victoria Palace, when asked whether he would take any measures following the Constitutional Court decision according to which asset declarations can no longer be made public.

Also asked whether he would introduce legislation in this regard, the prime minister replied: „I will support such legislation, but when my party has 50 percent I will effectively answer this question.” AGERPRES
