Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced on Thursday in Brussels that projects under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) concerning social centres for disadvantaged communities and workforce retraining will be a priority in the coming months.
Bolojan said that during his meeting with European Commission Vice-President Roxana Minzatu, he discussed the portfolios and projects falling under her responsibility and financed through the European Social Fund.
‘Through this fund, on the healthcare component, the hospitals Romania currently has under investment – those not included in the PNRR – are being co-financed, and in the coming days all documentation will be finalised so as to ensure the flow of payments and allow these hospitals to be completed during this year,’ Bolojan said at a press conference in Brussels.
He added that the discussions also covered projects undertaken by the Government through the PNRR and other related programmes.
‘There are two important projects: support for disadvantaged communities through social centres to be developed in the coming months in vulnerable areas across Romania, and the workforce retraining programme run by the National Agency for Employment (ANOFM). These two projects will be a priority in the months ahead,’ the Prime Minister stated.
