PM Bolojan sends message of condolences to the family of Romanian national who died in Rome

Published on

Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan sent a message of condolences to the family of the Romanian citizen who died after part of a medieval tower collapsed in the heart of Rome, Italy, where he worked.

„We all hoped, until the last moment, that our compatriot trapped in the collapsed building in Rome yesterday would be saved. The rescue teams, in extremely dangerous conditions, managed to pull him out of the rubble after 12 hours of efforts, but it was too late for him. Condolences to the family and those who knew him, thanks to the Italian rescue teams for the courage with which they intervened,” wrote Ilie Bolojan, on Tuesday, in a message on the Government’s Facebook page.

The Romanian worker trapped under the rubble after part of a medieval tower collapsed in the heart of Rome on Monday has died in hospital. He had been pulled out alive, but went into cardiac arrest and could not be resuscitated when he arrived at the medical facility, news agencies reported.
