PM Bolojan: The Government of Romania voices its solidarity with the Spanish people

Published on

Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan sent a message of solidarity with the Spanish people on Monday, on behalf of the Government, following the tragic train accident that occurred on Sunday evening.

‘The Government of Romania voices its solidarity with the Spanish people following the train accident that took place in Andalusia. Our thoughts are with all those affected and with their families in these extremely difficult moments. We extend our sincere condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the tragic accident,’ Bolojan wrote on the Government’s Facebook page.

An Iryo train travelling from Malaga to Madrid derailed on Sunday and entered the tracks on which an Alvia train was travelling at 200 kilometres per hour in the opposite direction, heading towards Huelva. A total of 484 passengers from both trains were affected. The death toll has reached 39, according to sources close to the investigation who spoke on Monday with EFE news agency. A total of 73 people remain hospitalised, 24 of them in serious condition, including four minors. AGERPRES
