Two sections of the A7 Motorway, between Buzau and Ramnicu Sarat, will be opened to traffic on November 20, and by the end of the year, it will be possible to drive on 130 kilometers of the Moldavia Motorway, announced Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu.
The PM together with Transport and Infrastructure Minister Sorin Grindeanu, paid a visit to the road investment project for the A7 Motorway, Buzau-Focsani Sector, Sections 1 and 2 – Buzau-Vadul Pasii and Vadul Pasii-Ramnicu Sarat.
„As I promised, the entire road from Buzau to Ramnicu Sarat will be opened to traffic, and next month, traffic will also be allowed from Buzau to Focsani. Everything I promised, along with the minister of Transport, that by the end of the year, the 130 kilometers of the Moldavia Motorway will be open, including nearly 50 kilometres from Ploiesti to Buzau, with the last section being delayed due to challenges… We will continue at the same pace, and I want to congratulate the contractor for meeting all deadlines. These sections were supposed to be completed in 2025, but they were finished much earlier,” said Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu.
Transport Minister Sorin Grindeanu announced that by the end of the year, approximately 180 kilometers of motorways and express roads will be opened to traffic.
„On Wednesday, November 20, these two sections will open to traffic; the Focsani section was opened last week. The third section will be opened in December. All four sections will be opened, plus the two others, as the Prime Minister mentioned, from Dumbrava to Pietroasele. We will also move south, and approximately 40 kilometers of express road between Craiova and Pitesti will be opened before December 1. After December 10, we will discuss the opening of another 16 kilometers from Pitesti to Curtea de Arges. By the end of the year, around 180 kilometers of highways and express roads will be opened,” said Minister Grindeanu.
The Buzau-Vadu Pasii Section I spans 4.6 km, while the second section, Vadu Pasii-Ramnicu Sarat, is 30.8 km long.
