PM Ciolacu announces cuts in unnecessary public spending to be continued

Published on

Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu announced on Wednesday that the Government will carry out a budget rectification, with additional revenues to be granted for investments in health, education, transportation and development.

„We are also carrying out a budget rectification based on additional budget revenues to support investments in four essential areas: health, education, transport and development of the country through large investments in motorways, schools and hospitals. It is, in fact, the sure way for Romania to have significant economic growth in the coming years,” Ciolacu said at the start of the government meeting.

He said cuts in unnecessary public spending will be continued.

„Obviously, we continue to reduce unnecessary public spending. The budget deficit must be exclusively a general investment deficit, not a squandering of useless purchases,” the prime minister added.
