PM Ciolacu announces special pension law for persons with disabilities

Published on

Prime minister Marcel Ciolacu announced on Friday that a separate pension law will be drafted for people with disabilities, which will treat their work with respect and, at the same time, ensure the right to a decent income for those who have retired from active life and for future pensioners.

„No pension in payment will be reduced as a result of the recalculation! This also applies to people with disabilities. Today, following the meeting with representatives of the Association of People with Vision Impairment in Romania and the National Council of Disability in Romania, we decided to work together for a separate law that will treat the work of people with disabilities with respect and, at the same time, ensure their right to a decent pension, both for those who are now retired and for future pensioners,” the prime minister wrote on Facebook.

He added that the executive will encourage the employment and retention in activity of people with special needs, especially in the public administration, „so that these people can integrate more easily into society and we can ensure them a dignified life.”
