Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said on Thursday, regarding the peace negotiations in Ukraine, that what is important are not the harsh, momentary statements of world leaders, but rather a fair and lasting peace in that country, which can only be achieved with the help of the U.S.
„I would like to respond to the most important global topic: the peace negotiations in Ukraine. For me, and I believe for most Romanians, what matters are not the harsh, momentary statements of world leaders, but the final goal – a fair and lasting peace in Ukraine. Peace can only be achieved with the help of Romania’s strategic partner – the United States of America,” said Ciolacu at the beginning of the Government meeting.
He underscored that peace would lead to lower energy and gas prices, as well as an economic recovery across Europe.
„It is also vital that we participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine, a project worth over 500 billion euros, from which Romanian companies must win as much as possible,” added Ciolacu.
