PM Ciolacu: Save Romania Union can vote for censure motion, I am certain gov’t will stay

Published on

Prime minister Marcel Ciolacu on Thursday stated that the USR (Save Romania Union) can vote for the motion of censure as he is „certain” that „the Government will not fall.”

The PM told this to the journalists present at the Victoria Palace, who asked him if he was afraid of the vote on the motion of censure announced by the opposition parties, in case the USR also voted „in favour.”

On Monday, the president of AUR (Alliance for the Union of Romanians), George Simion, said that the parliamentarians of this party will submit a motion of censure against the Ciolacu Government next week.

„We are submitting a motion of censure next week and we expect the same decent reaction from PM Marcel Ciolacu – to leave,” the president of the AUR said in Parliament.

He specified that the motion of censure will be signed by AUR parliamentarians together with senators and „common sense” deputies from the opposition who wish to join them.
