Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu, declared on Thursday, in Botosani, in a meeting with local business people, that a reform in the public administration is necessary, accompanied by the new approach according to which the performance in the public area must be at the level of that in the private area.
„We need a reform in the area of public administration, especially we need a new approach, that of performance in the public system, just as there is performance in the private system. I do not hide that there are counties where the county hospital is the largest employer in the county. We all understand that Romania is not going that way,” said Ciolacu.
PM Ciolacu spoke to the business people about the fiscal plan that Romania proposes to implement in the next seven years.
„It will be a fiscal plan for seven years, with a gradual reduction of the deficit. There will be a deficit reduction of 0.9% in the first year”, added the PM.
He said that Romania’s priorities related to the fiscal plan target the reform of the pension system, the salary system in the budget system, but also with the method of establishing the minimum salary in the economy.
„There will be three essential laws, such as the pension law, the single salary law and the fiscal reform and the guaranteed minimum wage should not be based on political intervention, but should be based on economic indicators, depending on competitiveness, standard of living, economic growth, yield A completely different philosophy than the one used until now, when it is decided through a negotiation between the Government, unions and employers to give sustainability to the entire fiscal program and the reduction of the deficit”, specified Marcel Ciolacu.
The PM also spoke about the digitalization of tax authority ANAF with a major impact on tax evasion. He showed that fiscal digitization will eliminate unexpected checks by anti-fraud inspectors.
„Through the ANAF digitization the fiscal optimization beach has reduced a lot, something that can also be seen in the numbers. We have additional income from taxes and VAT of almost 17%, so it becomes something that we can achieve. Of course, this digitization must be continued, as it happens in any state in the European Union”, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu also stated.
