PM Ciolacu supports national reindustrialisation plan’s rapid adoption

Published on

Prime minister Marcel Ciolacu pleaded on Monday for a rapid adoption of the national reindustrialisation plan, mentioning that there is „a huge interest” from the private sector in this regard.

„The next step is now to quickly adopt the national reindustrialisation plan, already approved in the PSD-PNL coalition. There is a huge interest from the private sector on this subject. That is why we have to make the final adjustments, to pass through the government this major project for Romania’s development,” said Ciolacu, at the beginning of the government meeting.

On September 18, Marcel Ciolacu said that the National Plan for Large Industry is „the most important” package to support the economy, of about two billion euros, focused on three main pillars.

The first pillar is targeting the support scheme for strategic investments in the processing industry, with a budget of over 500 million euros. The second pillar is the National Support Programme for Large Industry in Romania, and the third component of the plan is a state aid scheme of 250 million euros for companies that propose investments in the production of industrial raw materials – wires, profiles, bars, aluminum or copper.
