Through their sacrifice, the nation’s known and unknown heroes wrote history and opened paths towards the fulfillment of the Romanian people’s aspirations for freedom, dignity and prosperity, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu wrote on Thursday in the message sent on Heroes’ Day, which is celebrated on the holiday of the Lord’s Ascension.
„Today we mark an important day in the Christian-Orthodox calendar, the Holy Feast of the Ascension of the Lord, and also a remembrance day for the known and unknown heroes of the nation. Through their sacrifice, they wrote history and opened pathways towards the fulfillment of the Romanian people’s aspirations for freedom, dignity and prosperity. We bow before them with deep respect,” Ciolacu wrote.
According to him, „we are bound, in our turn, to carry their dream forward and develop the country that we will leave as a heritage to the future generations: a strong, modern, dignified Romania, well-appreciated and deeply attached to the values and principles of freedom and democracy.”
„May the Holy Feast of the Ascension of the Lord strengthen our hope, faith and unity. May God rest in peace all the martyrs of the nation! Glory to all! Christ Has Ascended!,” the prime minister said.
