PM Ciolacu: We are providing funds for green investment in energy and transport

Published on

The government has called for projects, especially from Bucharest City, to get funds for green investment in energy and transport, under a EUR 600 million loan agreement with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu said on Wednesday.

„We are also providing funds for green investment in energy and transport, we discussed this subject of public transport development at our meeting yesterday with the mayor of Bucharest and the mayors of Bucharest districts. And we will continue to discuss regularly, because that’s natural. We have a loan with the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, EUR 600 million. There is money for investment in renewable energy and transport, including in public-private partnerships. We are waiting for the projects, especially from the capital of Romania.” Ciolacu told a government sitting on Wednesday.

Before the sitting he said that on Thursday morning he will have a working meeting with Bucharest City General Mayor Nicusor Dan at the headquarters of the Bucharest City Hall.

The day before, on Tuesday, he told the district mayors of Bucharest that he wants a working group of the government, the Bucharest City Hall and the district mayoralties, because Bucharest needs an integrated and coherent plan for solving problems and development.
