PM Nicolae Ciuca: My meeting with FM Joao Cravinho reconfirmed the like-mindedness of Romania & Portugal regarding the situation in Europe

Prime Minister Nicolae Ciuca met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Portuguese Republic, Joao Gomes Cravinho, who is in Bucharest in the context of participating, as a special guest, in the 2022 edition of the Romanian Diplomacy Meeting, according to the Romanian Government.

Prime Minister Ciuca emphasized the importance of the full implementation of the decisions taken at the NATO Summit in Madrid, in the sense of strengthening the allied position on the Eastern Flank, and took note with appreciation of the active support offered by Portugal for the objective of Romania’s accession to the Schengen area.

„My meeting with FM Joao Cravinho reconfirmed the like-mindedness of Romania and Portugal regarding the situation in Europe. Our countries have opportunities to develop further bilateral cooperation. Energy, digitalization, agriculture, health are some key sectors”, Ciucă said after the meeting.
