PNL to fulfill its duty to continue to ensure government of Romania, says chairman Ciuca

The National Liberal Party will fulfill its „duty” to continue governing alongside the Social Democrats, the party leader, Nicolae Ciuca, said on Monday after the meeting of the National Political Bureau.

Asked whether the PNL will remain in government under the current conditions, Ciuca replied: „The National Liberal Party has always shown its responsibility”.

„We will fulfill this duty, to continue to ensure the government of Romania, taking into account, once again, all the challenges and threats that are all around us,” he added.

Nicolae Ciuca was asked whether, between the first and second rounds of the presidential elections, depending on the result, it is possible to „revive” the tandem of the PNL and the Social Democratic Party (PSD). „I don’t think so”, replied the Liberal leader.
