PNL was stifled to death by Iohannis, then discarded under PSD’s bed (USR’s Barna)

Deputy Chairman of the opposition Save Romania Union (USR) Dan Barna said on Monday in Ploiesti that the National Liberal Party (PNL) those who believed in democracy and in Romania’s European path used to know „died stifled by Iohannis with a pillow over its mouth” and was then „discarded under the Social Democratic Party’s bed.”

In the speech given at the event for the unveiling of the candidates for local office of the United Right Alliance – Prahova County, Barna said that the message that must be sent to the electorate is not to let themselves fooled once again by PSD and PNL, stressing that the PNL actually „no longer exists”.

„If we look today at this coalition, at this cohabitation, at this admixture – at the Romanian Communist Party, sorry… the Romanian Commingled Party, we see yet another attempt to fool Romania once again. The Social Democrats have taken the Liberals almost 200 mayors already and they will keep doing it. (…) Any vote given to the PNL is a vote for PSD and Marcel Ciolacu. (…) This is what’s at stake on June 9 – we shouldn’t once more surrender to PSD and PNL’s ways that sink this country,” said the USR top official.

In this line, he said that the United Right Alliance is the formation that brings hope in these elections.

„Don’t let yourselves fooled by a government that took us to #1 in Europe in terms of inflation, by a government that is driving us step by step towards the governing model of Belarus and not towards Europe, by a government in which Constitutional Court judges go hat in hand to the PSD offices in Parliament while we are told that this is normal, a government for which slot machines become an important industry that enjoys the protection of Ciolacu, the one who kept promising that he would solve the problem but then put up a bluff in Parliament to throw dust in the people’s eyes, a government that taxes the sick, a government that doesn’t know how to best smoothen the lives of timber thieves, a government that is collapsing this country day by day while telling us that Apocalypse hasn’t come yet, because that’s what Ciolacu told us the other day. Because his perspective is that as long as we do not end up like Argentina, going with bags of money to buy some bread or milk, we can still trust them. A government as a desperate attempt of the PNL to save itself by commingling, although this party that no longer exists, because true liberalism is in this room, and the United Right stands for it,” said the USR Deputy Chairman.
