National Liberal Party (PNL) President Ilie Bolojan said on Tuesday that Ciprian Ciucu’s effective administration of Bucharest will be very beneficial for the country’s development.
„In respect to the partial local elections, the procedure for supporting of Mr Ciprian Ciucu for the General City Hall of the Capital has been concluded. I want to thank my colleague Ciprian for accepting to enter this competition. I have confidence that, for the development of our country, Ciprian Ciucu’s effective administration of Bucharest is a very beneficial thing. If the Capital of our country functions as a locomotive for Romania, it means that our country will also do better, the better Bucharest is administered,” Bolojan said after the meeting of the PNL’s National Political Bureau (BPN).
According to Bolojan, Ciucu has two important advantages: „an experience which he proved at the District 6 City Hall” and „the honesty he has proven over all these years in public offices,” showing that „very good results can be achieved in a fair and honest way.”
In his turn, Ciprian Ciucu said that, from now on, Bucharest is the project of his life.
„It is a very important day for me. Bucharest, for many years, has been the project of my life. Until now I had the opportunity of being mayor in the western part of the city; I want to be able to take care of Bucharest, from now on, as the main project of my life. I am convinced that, having this opportunity, I will win. I am going for the victory and I have a vision for the next six years and a half, a vision in which Bucharest starts to be brushed up and an extended vision for the next ten years, until 2032, in which Bucharest shall truly look like a European capital,” he said.
Ciucu also mentioned that Bucharest is a city whose administration has lagged behind in terms of economic and social development.
According to Liberal sources, the PNL’s BPN meeting decided that Mihai Barbu will be the party’s treasurer, with responsibilities including signing all documents related to the 2025 partial local election campaign.
The National Political Bureau of the PNL unanimously validated on Tuesday’s meeting the candidacy of Ciprian Ciucu for the office of General Mayor of Bucharest, at the proposal of the Bucharest branch. AGERPRES
