PNL’s Ciuca: PNL will have its own candidate in the presidential election

Published on

National leader of the National Liberal Party (PNL) Nicolae Ciuca said on Thursday that PNL will have its own candidate in the presidential election and that the coalition partners, the Social Democratic Party (PSD), will probably do the same.

Ciuca was asked if PNL will opt for a joint candidate with PSD in the presidential election or file its own candidate.

„I can tell you what PNL will do: PNL will have its own candidate in the presidential election, and I think our coalition partners will do the same. However, they are the two big parties in Romanian politics, and they will decide to have their own presidential candidates,” Ciuca told DC News.

He added that after the local and European parliamentary elections, analyses will be made within the party, and the presidential candidate will be designated by a congress meeting.
