Police and prosecutors are conducting 391 searches nationwide on Wednesday in cases involving, among other things, public approval of the Holocaust or its effects, incitement to violence, hatred or discrimination, promotion of anti-Semitic ideas, conceptions or doctrines and promotion of fascist, legionary, racist or xenophobic doctrines.
Within the framework of Operation Jupiter, under the coordination of the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice and the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police, several actions are being carried out at national level to combat economic and financial crimes, weapons and judicial acts, for the commission of crimes of smuggling, tax evasion, fraud, counterfeiting, illegal obtaining of funds, usury, embezzlement, forgery and crimes regarding the organization and conduct of gambling, informs a press release from the IGPR (General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police) sent to AGERPRES on Wednesday.
The actions aim to document the criminal activity of the investigated persons, recover damages and seize assets obtained from committing crimes or illegally held.
The detected persons will be taken to hearings, in order for the police to be able to take legal measures in each case.
