Politehnica University’s Faculty of Transport opens centre for advanced research in digital railway systems

The Faculty of Transport within the Politehnica University of Bucharest has a new modern centre for applied research, technological development and the training of future specialists in intelligent rail transport.

‘The Faculty of Transport within the Politehnica University of Bucharest marks an important moment in academic and technological development with the opening of the Hitachi Rail Research Centre, a project dedicated to excellence in electronic engineering, telecommunications and information technologies. Developed in partnership with Hitachi Rail GTS Romania, this centre represents a solid bridge between the academic and industrial environments, offering a modern and innovative framework for applied research, technological development and the training of future specialists in intelligent rail transport,’ the faculty representatives announced on Wednesday on Facebook.

The new centre will support advanced research activities in digital railway systems, signalling technologies, automation and intelligent solutions for the mobility of the future, contributing to the formation of a generation of engineers capable of meeting the demands of the industry and global transformations.

‘The opening of the Hitachi Rail Research Centre confirms the Faculty of Transport’s commitment to investing in innovation, quality education and collaborations that support the technological evolution of the rail sector in Romania and Europe,’ the source added. AGERPRES
