The government on Thursday passed measures to reduce bureaucracy and simplify administrative procedures for people on supplemental income.
Thus, the e-DU form will be pre-filled with information on the income of the tax payers to ascertain their social security and healthcare insurance payments due.
„A series of amendments to reduce bureaucracy and simplify administrative procedures in the case of individual taxpayers earning a supplemental income have been approved by the government in an emergency ordinance amending the Tax Code. The ordinance regulates the e-DU form – the single declaration on income tax and social security contributions due by individuals, pre-filled with the information held by ANAF on the income registered and available in the institution’s database. The measure envisages the automatic calculation of the contribution dues in order to better collect them, by reducing and eliminating calculation and declaration errors,” according to governmental spokesman Mihai Constantin.
Constantin added that the decision to amend and simplify the tax legislation was taken after government’s consultations with the business community.
