President Nicusor Dan said that on Tuesday he would have another discussion with representatives of pro-Western parties and mentioned that he will hold a press conference on Wednesday.
„Tomorrow there will be a press conference, something I haven’t done in a while, during which I will answer all your questions. And I will also update you on where we currently stand,” Nicusor Dan said in a statement to the press in front of his residence.
He estimated that a government could be formed within two weeks.
„Around two weeks from today, I estimate. Why do I say this? Because, as many party representatives have agreed with me, in a coalition with many partners, tensions arise on various topics, and so it’s better that many of the issues – obviously we won’t be able to anticipate everything – but many of the issues we expect to have disagreements over should be written down clearly so that there are no further disputes,” the head of state said.
When asked whether he had another name for prime minister besides Ilie Bolojan, he replied that discussions are still ongoing.
Regarding potential issues on which all parties have already reached agreement, Nicusor Dan indicated that he would have another discussion with party representatives on Tuesday.
„We’ll see, we’ll see. We also have another meeting today with the technical committee. There is a technical committee for the budget and deficit, about 15 committees for the other topics, and there is also the leaders’ discussion. I’ll meet with them today to see where we stand,” the head of state added.
