President Nicusor Dan’s informal consultations with the parliamentary parties and political entities continue, on Wednesday, with the delegation of the National Liberal Party (PNL).
The PNL delegation includes the party’s interim president, Ilie Bolojan, and Liberal leaders Adrian Vestea, Catalin Predoiu, Ciprian Ciucu and Dan Motreanu.
The discussions at the Cotroceni Palace started with the representatives of the Social Democratic Party (PSD). The PSD delegation included the party’s interim president, Sorin Grindeanu, and also Mihai Tudose, Marian Neacsu, Victor Negrescu, Lia Olguta Vasilescu and Paul Stanescu.
After the discussions with the PNL representatives, the head of state will meet the representatives of the USR (Save Romania Union), around noon.
Representatives of the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR) are also scheduled for consultations later today. Along with the party’s president, Kelemen Hunor, there will be meeting the president Cseke Attila, Tanczos Barna, Antal Arpad and Miklos Zoltan.
The parliamentary group of national minorities will come to meet the president later in the afternoon.
Representatives of the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) and the S.O.S. Romania Party informed that they would not participate in the discussions.
Discussions with the Young People’s Party (POT) are also scheduled later in the afternoon. The delegation of this party is expected to be formed by the POT president, Anamaria Gavrila, and members Daniel Grofu, Razvan Chirita and Gabriela Porumboiu.
The non-affiliated parliamentarians are expected to hold talks with president Nicusor Dan in the evening.
The Presidential Administration informed on Tuesday that these consultations were initiated under the provisions of Article 80, paragraph (2) of the Constitution and concern the country’s economic and political situation.
The head of state stated that this will be a first round of discussions.
